Power BI connection¶
Field reference: airflow-powerbi-provider. A single http
connection type (Airflow’s built-in HTTP type, not a dedicated Power BI
type), conventionally named powerbi_default.
Authenticates as a service principal that needs to be created and allow-listed for Power BI API access first. See Creating a Power BI / Fabric service principal if you don’t already have one set up. The steps below assume you do, and just cover creating the Airflow connection itself.
Steps¶
In the Airflow UI, open Admin → Connections, then click + to add a new connection.
Set Connection Id to
powerbi_default(or whatever your DAGs pass as the operator’s connection ID) and Connection Type toHTTP.
Fill in Login (Azure AD app registration client ID), Password (client secret), and Extra with
{"tenant_id": "<Azure tenant ID>"}, then click Save.
